Data Mining Institute utilizes the expertise and research of the Software Engineering Department to discover and invent novel and powerful tools for extracting knowledge and for solving scientific, business and economic problems.
Current and potential application fields include

  • Heuristic approaches to search networks consistent with experimental data within the framework of the FP7 grant “New Algorithms for Host Pathogen Systems Biology”
  • Optimization of technical service schedules, under the auspices of the ASTEA Company
  • Investigation of user activities, as part of an agreement with the Paris branch of ORANCE
  • Infection & protein chain discovery
  •  Medical image processing for brain white matter and bone fracture status

The Institute carries out many studies in the fields of cluster validation, graph clustering and application of machine learning methodology to software engineering problems.
