WORK METHODS DESIGN LABORATORY

Background
In order to achieve improvement in subjects as production growth, costs reduction and effectual use of the resources, we have to use engineering's tools. Those tools includes theoretical knowledge as: analyzing and improving techniques, work processes and time research techniques. These theoretical techniques underline practical process’s in industry and service organizations. the laboratory is uses to practice the process’s.

The laboratory devises to two parts.

  1. Practice laboratories – for practicing the process you have to do in order to define work time standards:
  • Rate evaluation – in order to define whether the worker rates work is a normal, higher or lower rate and consider it in the determination of work time standards.
  • Direct time research – practicing the process’s which determine the work time standards according to direct time research. According to a movie shows a work process: division of the work process to elements ,time measurement, addendum evaluation according to the work environment and other work conditions and rating evaluation .
  • Work sampling time research - practicing the process’s which determine the work time standards according to sampling time research. According to a movie observes a work process: division of the work process to elements, determination of time sampling, elements sampling ,addendum evaluation according to the work environment and other work conditions.

Time Research Software

  • TIMEDATA – TimeData is a versatile, easy to use, motion analysis work standards program. Timedata compromise three levels: motions, elements and tasks.
  • WORKSAMP – WorkSamp is a work sampling program. WorkSamp can summarize data taken from paper forms years ago or currently. Worksamp can also summarize data taken using electronic data collectors.
  • CITS APR – This system uses data collected by notebook PC or data collected by the observer in other ways and transferred to the system. The data analyzed according to direct time method by the CITS APR software.
  • CAWS/E - This system uses sampled data collected by notebook PC. The data analyzed according to sampling time method by the CAWS/E software.
  • MTM-LINK – MTM-LINK is a system which stores information in two separate but related areas or files, an element file and an operation file.
    There is a natural flow from the element file to operation file. The element file is used to develop standard data elements or building blocks. The operation file is used to build operation standards out of our standard data building blocks.
  • MOST – This method was born in order to simplify the time data collecting undertaking, and the analysis of work time. The system based on the understanding that work movements can be divide to certain number of movements that create three sequences of events:
    1. General move – for a movement of an object in the air.
    2. Controlled move - for a movement of an object remains in contact with a surface or touches another object while moving.
    3. Tool use – for using a manual work tool.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course represents advances models and techniques for improving work processes in the industrial and service organizations. Models as KAIZEN, BPR, BENCHMARKING and INVENTION THINKING. These models represent different points of views of the work process improvement. The course includes the use of time research software.
