Industrial Engineering and Management

The Department awards a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Industrial Engineering and Management (IE&M) to its graduates. The degree is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and grants the holder the right to be listed in Israel's Registry of Engineers and Architects.

IE&M graduates are professionals with a strong background and skills in design, operation and management of complex industrial and service systems, as well as analysis, design and implementation of information systems. Industrial engineers need deep understanding of finance, human resources management and marketing as well as broad knowledge in exact sciences and technology.

The four year IE&M study program integrates theoretical and practical knowledge. Students get a solid grounding in mathematics, sciences and engineering and take theory and practical courses in all the fields in which industrial engineers and managers may work such as: systems operation and management; production and service systems design; analysis, design and integration of information systems; analysis and optimization of complex systems; work methods design; financial analyses; marketing; quality engineering and management; ergonomics; problem solving in complex operations; and design of plants and transportation systems.

In addition to the theoretical knowledge students acquire, the program emphasizes gaining hands-on experience in the industrial world. This is achieved through internship and specialization over five months or 900 hours, or through completing a project in cooperation with industry.

In 1996 ORT Braude’s Industrial Engineering and Management first graduating class completed its studies. Our graduates work in a wide range of jobs in all types of industries and most are very successful and satisfied with their positions. Today, an increasing growing number of department graduates are senior employees in organizations as well as holders of higher degrees from well known institutes.

At the moment, the Industrial Engineering and Management Department has approximately 600 students studying for a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management.
