About the Department

The Industrial Engineering and Management (IE&M) Department at ORT Braude College has three degrees programs in the following disciplines:

  1. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Industrial Engineering and Management
  2. Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Industrial Engineering and Management
  3. Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Systems Engineering


In addition, the IE&M department is jointly running with the Software Engineering Department a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Information Systems Engineering.

The department is headed by Dr. Boris Shnits.  The faculty members of the IE&M department comprise the Departmental Academic Council and various departmental committees like the Curriculum Committee, among others.

There are 15 faculty members,two with the rank of Associate Professor, eight with the rank of Senior Lecturer,three with the rank Lecturer, and two with the rank Senior Teacher. In addition, another 40 adjunct lecturers, who are experts in their respective domains, are among the teaching staff in the department.

The IE&M Department was established in 1992. The first class of students graduated in 1996. Since that time, more than 1,600 engineers graduated.  At the moment, the IE&M Department has approximately 500 undergraduate students for a B.Sc. in industrial Engineering and Management and more than 60 graduate students in both Systems Engineering and Industrial Engineering and Management.

Dr. Hussein Naseraldin is heading the Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management.  The program opened its door in 2013.

Prof. Shuki Dror is heading the Master of Science in Systems Engineering.  The program opened its doors in 2011
